Research with Dr.Jisoo Kim, Radcliffe Research Fellow on "Criminalizing Intimacy: Marriage, Adultery, and Gender Constitutionalism in Korea, 1469-1910” to investigate the criminalization of heterosexual intimacies and unequal power structures in marriage in Korean history. Conduct archival research at the Schlesinger Library, Harvard Law, and other relevant archives, focusing on primary sources related to the criminalization of intimacies and marriage in Korean history. Analyze historical and legal documents to identify patterns in decriminalizing adultery laws in the US, European states (Italy, France, Germany, and Scandinavian countries), and other regions. Investigate the impact of British colonial laws on adultery legislation in India and examine the legal context in Southeast Asian states. Explore decriminalization trends in Latin American and Caribbean countries, assessing regional variations and influences. Review US Constitutional law and its evolution regarding gender equality through the 20th century, with a focus on the decriminalization of adultery laws. Examine transnational influences on the criminalization and decriminalization of adultery laws, noting constitutional and legal changes state-by-state.

Researched with Elizabeth Maddock Dillon, Radcliffe Research Fellow, on mapping historical connections between the Boston area and the early Caribbean from the 17th through 19th centuries. Explored the historical relationship with the slave economy of the Caribbean and developed skills in the field of digital humanities. Georectified existing historical base maps from the Caribbean and from 17th-century Boston to adapt to contemporary maps using longitude and latitude. Repositioned the narrative of slave stories from a colonial/colonizer perspective to an enslaved person's perspective.
